Responsibilities:

Summary of Position:
Directs nursing services activities in an assigned patient care unit. Assigns duties to professional nursing personnel in accordance with physicians' instructions, based on patients' and unit needs and available staff

Essential Functions (List up to the top five essential functions):

Directs and supports the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of delivery of care for assigned area (s).
Provides direction for development and evaluation of nursing personnel.
Prepares and maintains the operational and financial aspects of the patient care unit(s).
Participates in professional organizations and activities which promote growth and development.
Supports Nursing/Hospital philosophy and mission.
Supports educational and research efforts.


Reports to:
Department Director


Degree of Supervision Given to others:
Minimum to maximum to all nursing unit personnel.

Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
- Current Georgia license to practice as a registered nurse.
- B.S. in nursing or related specialty is desired.
- Experienced in directing, teaching, and supervising nursing personnel.
- Demonstrated professional manner in work setting.
