This position is located in Jasper North Georgia Mountains 60 miles from Atlanta.

Lead Blood Bank Technologist (LBBT) under limited supervision will efficiently perform procedures and test as ordered for use in diagnosis and treatment of the blood bank. LBBT will be responsible for performing all technical procedures which included responsibility for maintenance of the analyzers, quality control, collection of blood, maintaining supplies in accordance with standards of practice and established policy and procedure. Collaboration with nursing, medical and other staff to coordinate patient care activities will be necessary to support the facility's mission statement, achieve customer satisfaction, and identify system problems as opportunities for improvement.

Minimum Qualifications: One year of lead or supervisory clinical experience in an approved clinical laboratory resulting in certification in medical technology; certification as a medical technologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent organization; current licensure as a technologist by the State of Georgia. In addition, must provide overall direction of the section, have in-depth experience with human resource/staff development issues, and use independent judgment; possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills, work well with others, possessing tact, discretion, and diplomacy. Subject to work long, irregular hours and to mental, emotional and physical stress. Must be able to push, pull and lift weight up to 50 pounds. Must be able to endure prolonged, extensive and considerable standing, walking, stooping and reaching. Must be fluent in English
- speaking, reading and writing (must exhibit legible penmanship). Must possess normal to near normal vision, hearing and manual dexterity.
