HISTORY
The Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce of Georgia (BACC) is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1996 by a team of Brazilians lead by Jaime Araujo, Eduardo DiLascio, Renato DeMoraes, Rose Estacio and Lucia Jennings. The objectives of the organization are to showcase Brazil to Southeastern US, to facilitate the entrance of Brazilian firms wishing to conduct business in the area and to help US firms wishing to conduct business with Brazil.
In order to realize our objectives, the organization promotes seminars, workshops, as well as a number of other events utilized to network representatives of both Brazilian firms and US in a mutual effort to understand the business environment of each country. Other actives include maintaining contact with relevant Brazilian and American authorities as well as with other chambers both Brazilian and other international chambers throughout the US. We hope to stay abreast of initiatives adopted by the Brazilian government that could be of interest to our members and associates. We hope to be a source of information about Brazil to our US members and other information about Georgia to Brazilians whether they are Georgia residents or not.
Presently the organization has approximately 100 associates including large, medium and small companies as well as individuals wishing to maintain contact with Brazilian business and economy as well as its culture. A Board of Directors composed of 20 members runs the organization. The individual volunteers contribute to the continued development of the organization. The president is Mrs. Lucia Jennings of The Coca-Cola Company, the treasurer is Mrs. Alessandra Coppola of MTV Music Television, Executive Director is Mrs. Fabiana Di Pietro and the secretary is Ms. Julia Forrester of F3 Analytics. The organization also relies on the Communications Committee, Committee of Events as well as the Membership Committee. All are an essential part of the organization and because of this our doors are constantly open to volunteers that are not necessarily members of the chamber.
