The Atlanta Urban League provides Workforce Development Services and Programs in the areas of recruitment, training, retention, and career advancement. For individual clients, we are a source for career opportunities, job training, and placement. For the business community, we are a source for recruiting skilled workers and providing staffing and training services.

Employment Assessment
Individual clients will participate in a career assessment. The assessment will assist individuals in determining their aptitude, interests, strengths and weaknesses in relation to future career and employment opportunities. In-depth counseling is provided to share the type(s) of career path options which build on the client’s natural talents, skills, experience and strengths. Testing provides job seekers with an opportunity to understand where continuing education or increased computer skills may increase their employability.
Employment Counseling & Placement
Employment Counseling is designed to help applicants obtain the best possible paid employment in accordance with their skills, talents, capabilities and experience. For those who want to build or revive a career, the Employment and Training Center is an excellent place to start. Job seekers can find information and resources necessary to conduct a complete job search. Employment Specialists can personally access information about job announcements, workforce assistance, customized training and community resources.
The Enhanced Career Exploration Option provides professional development counseling that facilitates the promotion and career success of minorities in technical and professional positions. Services are provided to professionals in entry level and mid level management positions, retirees seeking part-time work and individuals who are seeking a career change.
Employment Specialists provide one-on-one counseling to applicants. Sessions average approximately 30 minutes. Please bring a copy of your resume and/or dates of employment, cover letter templates and employment references. Resume writing assistance will be provided.
Vocational Rehabilitation
Services designed to obtain, maintain, and improve employment for people with employment barriers.
Training
The Atlanta Urban League is an approved Workforce Investment Act (WIA) training site offering certificates of completion and job placement assistance to students in the following areas:
- Computer Skills – Designed to certifiy participants as Microsoft Office Specialists in Microsoft Word, Excel PowerPoint and Access.
- Banking & Financial Services – Designed to train participants for flexible and rewarding careers in the financial industry. Participants will receive training on 10 key by touch, Customer Service and Proof Operations.
Transitional Employment
Transitional Employment provides time-limited, wage paying jobs that combine real work, skill development, and supportive services to help participants successfully transition into the labor market. Clients served by this program are typically people with multiple employment barriers or limited work experiences. This includes individuals who are homeless, persons with criminal records, TANF recipients and youth exiting foster care.
OFFICE HOURS: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday 9:00 AM – 12 Noon.
All applicants must sign in and will be served on a first come basis.
