Responsibilities:
Summary of major functions:
Pharmacists generally oversee the medication use system. They are responsible for processing medication orders received from physicians and other practitioners. This processing includes clinical screening, CPOE order verification, medication FTTG distribution and monitoring. It also includes, but is not limited to, providing drug information to practitioners and intervening when appropriate. Pharmacists also oversee the work of pharmacy technicians involved in the medication use system.

Qualifications:
A license from the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy is required. Advanced training (residencies, certification, etc.) and experience as a hospital pharmacist is preferred, but not required.
