RESPONSIBLE FOR: Development and implementation of a four month training program designed for Registered Nurses entering the field of Cardiovascular Nursing Selection and administration of orientation processes designed to meet the needs of the participant and the participating departments. The Cardiovascular Interns will be responsible for direct and/or indirect total, holistic cardiovascular nursing care of adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Optimizing employee performance, effectiveness, productivity, customer service, teamwork, and specific job tasks by providing educational opportunities, training and development, one-on-one coaching, consultation, and advice to individual staff members and departments. Providing input to committees that evaluate and improve systems and processes affecting employee performance. Assess overall training needs of program participants and develop strategies to meet them. Develop outcomes measurement processes to ensure clinical competence and employee satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing or current progression toward B.S.N. A minimum of three years Cardiovascular experience and demonstrated clinical competence. Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia. BCLS/ACLS certification. Experience with formal program development. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work autonomously and use independent judgement.

Ideal candidate would meet the following preferences:

1. Previous teaching experience. Have the ability to teach/lecture in front of groups for in services, education, and presentations to leadership.&

2. Be able to plan an educational course offerings from start to finish.

3. Previous experience working with new graduate nurses. Ability to define new graduate nurse program objectives and goals.

4. Ability to receive and give constructive feedback.

5. Flexibility with time and the ability to collaborate across service lines and departments.

6. Ability to incorporate evidence-based practice.

7. Be an excellent clinician and 'ultimate' preceptor.
