Description

Saint Joseph's facility is Atlanta's oldest hospital. Today, the 410-bed, acute-care facility is recognized as one of the top specialty-referral hospitals in the Southeast. Saint Joseph's has received numerous awards including the distinguished Magnet Recognition for Nursing Excellence from the American Nurses Association Credentialing Center a designation of best in Georgia and top five percent in the nation for cardiac and vascular programs.

The EMT provides direct patient care necessary for efficient functioning of the nursing unit. Provides support activities appropriate to ages served primarily adults ages 18-65 or geriatric patients ages over 65. May also include care for infant age 0-1 year, child ages 1-12 years or adolescent ages 13-17 years.

The ideal candidate will have successful completion of an Emergency Medical Technician Course. Successful annual completion of hospital administered EKG test. One year clinical related experience preferred i.e., nursing assistant, medical technician, PCT . EMT experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform basic patient care functions, knowledge of safety and infection control principles, basic medical terminology, and basic computer data entry skills, telephone skills. Demonstrated skill in CPR techniques and rhythm recognition.
