RESPONSIBLE FOR:& Providing medical care to patients under the direction of a supervising physician. Examines, evaluates, and treats patients with medical conditions, illness or injuries. Advises patients on the maintenance of good health.&

QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing and a Master's degree in Nursing and certified as a nurse practitioner by an accredited certifying body OR a graduate from a nationally certified Physician's Assistant Program with current licensure as a Physician's Assistant in the State of Georgia.. Two years related experience. Requires knowledge of research process and the ability to apply it to every day practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Assesses diagnosis and treats patients within scope of care defined by the GA State Nursing Practice Act for Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistant licensing requirements.

2. Provides patient, staff and community education.

3. Documents the delivery of care in the individual's medical record.

4. Assists physicians in performing surgical procedures.

5. Serves as a consultant for advanced clinical knowledge.

6. Identifies research questions and conducts or participates on research activities.

7. Takes verbal or telephone orders from Transplant Physicians on staff and enters them into the hospital or clinic medical record.
