Responsibilities:
The Senior CDM Analyst is responsible for ensuring that all items and services such as procedures, patient visits, supplies, and pharmaceuticals that are charged for through the CDM are described, coded and priced appropriately and are representative of services provided. The Senior CDM Analyst provides assistance and analysis to all levels of clinical management at the facility in support of suggested, requested and/or mandated changes to the CDM. Evaluates department requests to ensure that all additions, changes and deletions are consistent with proper charging, billing and coding practices. Support includes development of data, analysis and recommendations to minimize negative effects of change. Maintains the facility Chargemaster within applicable coding guidelines, assists with bill problem resolution and provides coverage guidelines for billable services. Works with clinical directors and managers to implement and monitor CDM changes. Participates in the pre-contract review process to ensure that all billing requirements can be met. Works with Medicare intermediaries and CMS (formerly know as HCFA) to clarify billing requirements. Communicates this information to all applicable departments. Reviews all Medicare and Medicaid newsletters, memos and updates. Performs periodic review of the CMS and Medicare Intermediary web-sites to keep abreast of pending changes. Proactively creates plans to adopt and/or implement changes. The Senior CDM Analyst will also provide support to other projects within the Contracting & Process Improvement Department as well as other Performance Improvement initiatives. This includes, but is not limited to, other projects related to contract compliance, charge audits, OP coding/pricing, new product develop, and Action Data Submittal and Reporting.


Skills / Requirements

-Bachelor Degree in Business/Finance or Accounting required.-A degree or certificate in nursing or in an ancillary therapeutic or diagnostic patient care field may be substituted or equivalent working experience in Healthcare related field.-Experience with PC's, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, and database software applications is desired.-Previous patient care experience preferred.
