Responsibilities:
Supervises and assists staff in the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Assists the Department Head in directing the development and evaluation of nursing personnel. Assists the Department Head in preparing and maintaining the operational aspect of the unit. Participates in professional organizations and activities which promote growth and development. Supports Nursing/Hospital philosophy, objectives, and mission. Manages the Nursing Unit in the absence of the Department Head.

Graduate of accredited school of nursing (B.S. in nursing preferred)Current Georgia license to practice as a registered nurse.Minimun of 2-3 years of Charge Nurse Experience in Labor and Delivery/APUMinimum of 5 years L & D/APU experiencePrevious experience at a Level III facility (preferably non-teaching)Mandatory CertificationsBLSNPRACLS (current)Advance or Intermediate AWHONN Fetal monitor Course within the last 2 yearsCertification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring and/or Inpatient OB preferredExperience in the following areas: PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) or Surgical patient recovery experience& nbsp;Initial Newborn Care (Apgar scoring/medication)Circulate Surgical CasesVaginal ExamsPlacement of Internal Scalp Electordes IV Therapy (phlebotomy)Antepartum/High Risk IntrapartumAssist with Epidural placement
