Description

Full time position. Shift: 8:30a-5p. Location: Atlanta Internal Medicine. PRC01515

The Certified Medical Assistant works closely and under the direction of a licensed provider. Performs basic patient assessment procedures including vital signs, infection disease control, universal precautions, and other specialized tasks such as phlebotomy/injections. Performs interpretation for clients and staff as applicable. Monitor and order medical supplies and materials under the guidance of the Nurse Practitioner and/or Clinic Manager. Performs EKG with the guidance of a licensed Medical Provider. Performs light administrative duties, such as copying and filing. Responsible for pre-certifications of scheduled procedures. Will be cross-trained to be able to answer phones, schedule and greet patients, i.e. front desk duties, if necessary.

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma required. Graduate of medical technical school preferred. CMA required. Six months to one-year previous experience in health related area required. Experience in phlebotomy, conducting basic lab procedures, and client education is required. Experience performing EKGs. EHR experience is not essential, but would help shorten learning curve. At least 1 year experience using computer system in physician office. Foreign language would be useful, but is not required. Experience and knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA and CLIA guidelines.
