Description

The Clinical Office is responsible for all secretarial aspects of the Oncology Care Unit and CanScreen including organizing and managing patient files, statistics, records, database information, monitoring financial data and supporting nursing staff for primarily adult patients. Provides secretarial support to Director managing correspondence, minutes, meeting preparations and other administrative needs, as other duties allow. Registers and pre-registers patients accurately by obtaining demographic and financial information for correct billing and to secure reimbursement. Verifies medical necessity and eligibility per electronic system s . Obtains correct MSP information per Medicare account. Refers patients without sponsorship to financial counselor.


The ideal applicant will have a High school diploma or equivalent Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Certified course in clerical skills, medical terminology, computer software operations strongly recommended. Must have previous secretarial experience in a multifaceted business/office setting, effective interaction with individuals, groups and general public, efficient management of role and responsibilities, and established maturity and accountability. : Must demonstrate highly developed interpersonal skills, knowledge of office equipment including Microsoft Office Software, IDX Software, Medical Records Scanning Software, Reimbursement Software, FAX, Laser Printer, Typing 40 wpm efficient and organized.
