Description

Saint Joseph's facility is Atlanta's oldest hospital. Today, the 410-bed, acute-care facility is recognized as one of the top specialty-referral hospitals in the Southeast. Saint Joseph's has received numerous awards including the distinguished Magnet Recognition for Nursing Excellence from the American Nurses Association Credentialing Center a designation of best in Georgia and top five percent in the nation for cardiac and vascular programs.

The Occupational Therapist evaluates and treats patients within an acute care facility and within the Saint Joseph's Hospital of Atlanta continuum of care, dealing with primarily adults ages 18-65 or geriatric patients ages over 65. May also include care for infant age 0-1 year, child ages 1-12 years or adolescent ages 13-17 years who are referred by a licensed physician. Upon director of the hospital, the therapist may provide services off-site of the hospital to include but not to be limited to doctor's offices. Participates in a variety of patient care related activities within the Rehabilitation Services Department as well as hospital wide.

The ideal applicant will have at least one clinical rotation for six weeks in an acute care hospital during the final completion of the academic program. Graduated from an accredited occupational therapy program with at least a bachelor's degree, currently certified as an occupational therapist by the American Occupational Certification Board, and has a current license to practice in Georgia.
