Description

Saint Joseph's facility is Atlanta's oldest hospital. Today, the 410-bed, acute-care facility is recognized as one of the top specialty-referral hospitals in the Southeast. Saint Joseph's has received numerous awards including the distinguished Magnet Recognition for Nursing Excellence from the American Nurses Association Credentialing Center a designation of best in Georgia and top five percent in the nation for cardiac and vascular programs.

The phlebotomist under the supervision of the Manager of Infusion Therapy and the nursing director is responsible for collection and handling of special laboratory test procedures and routine laboratory blood collections as ordered by the medical staff. Patients served include primarily adults ages 18-65 or geriatric patients ages over 65. May also include care for infant age 0-1 year, child ages 1-12 years or adolescent ages 13-17 years.

The qualified applicant will be a high school graduate or equivalent. Certificate in phlebotomy preferred. Preferably two years experience or completion of clinical rotation in an accepted phlebotomy program with eligibility for phlebotomy certification.
