Description

Saint Joseph's facility is Atlanta's oldest hospital. Today, the 410-bed, acute-care facility is recognized as one of the top specialty-referral hospitals in the Southeast. Under the supervision of the management of The Medical Group of Saint Joseph's TMGSJ , as well as the physicians employed by TMGSJ, the Advanced Practitioner is responsible for providing assistance to physicians and providing direct clinical care to the patients in TMGSJ clinics, or any location that TMGSJ physicians provide clinical care. This includes, but is not limited to the initial evaluation, assessment, education, and follow-up care of cardiology patients daily rounding on patients admitted by TMGSJ Cardiologists initial inpatient consults taking call for the Emergency Department supervision of nuclear stress testing supervision of stress testing in the outpatient setting, and any other responsibilities agreed upon by management and physicians. The Advanced Practitioner may be asked to travel to satellite locations. Participation in the rotating call schedule for cardiology practice, as well as TMGSJ Internal Medicine practice may be required.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program. Current Georgia license. Board certified PA-C or NP required. Current Georgia licensure required. Membership and participation in a professional organization required. The PA/NP will serve as a The Medical Group of Saint Joseph's employee. A minimum of 2 years clinical experience required. Experience working with cardiology patients preferred. Extensive experience working closely with physicians, families, and peers and the ability to gain trust and credibility. Ability to work effectively as a team member. Ability to diagnose and treat patients in health and illness using health promotion, appropriate diagnostic testing, disease prevention, and therapeutic interventions. Knowledge of health problems, issues, and needs of the specific target populations. Knowledge of NP/PA scope of practice in Georgia. The Advanced Practitioner stays current in the field and engages in continuing education for skill building and licensure.
