In this role, you will be responsible for the architecture, design, implementation and/or modifications to the WAN infrastructure. Our client has 200 sites with redundant equipment and comms links. You will be responsible for planning, designing and supporting the WAN using Cisco switches and routers (6500 series). You will also be responsible for network policies, obtaining licenses and implementing standards. Oversee tier three handling of network changes, short-term needs such as the annual equipment refresh, long-term needs, and individual special requests while maintaining MOC policies and standards. Manage medium scale projects from conception to completion including project timelines, internal/external resources and budgetary guidelines. Work with external vendors to provide preliminary vendor management needs. Work with internal customers, vendors, and internal support personnel to achieve 99% infrastructure uptime on critical network equipment within client's environment, and provide overtime and on-call support as needed (although it is limited). Required Experience
* At least 10 years of IT experience in the infrastructure arena
* At least 7 years hands-on and in-depth with Cisco routers and switches
* Expert level with Cisco IOS required
* Good knowledge of Ciscos firewalls required
* Solid experience with FrameRelay and/or MPLS required
* Knowledge of satellite communications preferred
* VoIP and/or IDS experience preferred
* Experience managing and driving projects independently and as a team
* Working knowledge of network management tools
* General understanding of Windows Server and Windows networking
* Ability to communicate with all levels of the business and represent IT well
