In the role of a Clinical Documentation Specialist, you will be a member of a team whose primary responsibility is to improve the overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation in the medical record process. The position facilitates improvement in documentation through interaction with Physicians and other members of the Healthcare Team and Medical Record Coders. This position ensures the accuracy and completeness of clinical information used for measuring and reporting physician and Gwinnett Medical Center outcomes. The position collaborates with other Clinical Teams to ensure documentation supports length of stay, resource utilization and patient outcomes. POSITION ELIGIBLE FOR REFERRAL

Requires a Current State if Georgia Registered Nurse licensure. BSN, Masters preferred. Minimum of one (1) year Experience in a Hospital Acute Inpatient Care setting. Previous Utilization Review, Quality Review and or Case Management experience a Plus! Exceptional Interpersonal Communication skills and strong clinical decision making ability a Must! Knowledge of DRG Payor issues including documentation and reimbursement policies helpful.
