Position located in Vinings. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department. This position reports to the Controller and is responsible for directing and performing routine professional accounting duties in the creation and maintenance of accounting records; the review and analysis of financial transactions, and the external and internal reporting of financial information to support the Piedmont Medical Care Corp. May support the Finance Dept. by conducting research and analyses in budgeting, cost accounting, financial analysis, third-party cost based reimbursement, financial trends and production of forecast information. Duties performed require professional discretion, confidentiality and independent judgment. Participates in the development of accounting and internal control policies and systems and addresses related policy/system issues. Provides advice and guidance as necessary in preparing and analyzing timely and accurate financial reports and executing appropriate responsive actions. Provides advice and assistance to Practice Managers/Directors in analyzing and interpreting financial data and reports.& Assists in the preparation of budget; reviews and analyzes budget performance and identified variances; ensures effective cost control. Ensures that accurate information is provided on a timely basis and assists as needed in facilitating the efficient conduct of internal and external audits, examinations, and related financial projects. Directly supervises Finance dept. employees. Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance is required with a minimum of at least five years of progressively responsible financial management experience or equivalent and a minimum of three years of supervisory experience. Seasoned professional with experience in a healthcare; preferably in a physician practice environment. Superior customer service, interpersonal and oral/written/presentation communication skills required. Excellent computer skills, including experience with advanced financial modeling. Advanced financial computation, analysis and problem-solving skills required. Microsoft Access preferred. Experience with NextGen, Great Plains, Lawson and/or Kronos preferred.
