Energetic, friendly individual needed to assist the front office support staff in scheduling appointments, check-in, posting charges and payments. .Ability to perform all clerical duties associated with the Front Office, including but not limited to check-in/check-out duties: greeting patients or visitors; answering phones; scheduling appointments; patient registration and cashiering. Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner. Assists patients and non-patients (in person or over the telephone) with various types of matters including, but not limited to, directions, paperwork, routine questions and ensures the needs of patients and non-patients are met by direct and/or indirect means. Extensive knowledge of coding: CPT and ICD-9 required. Solid knowledge of managed care plans. Must have a good working knowledge of different payers and how to verify patient insurance. Good knowledge of medical terminology. Must be a team player and pay attention to details. Must have excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills and the ability to multi-task. Clear speaking voice. At least three years of front office experience in a medical office or physician's practice. Basic math skills and experience with multi-line phones necessary.
