Human Resources Manager

Americo Manufacturing Company, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Human Resources Manager.  Reporting to the CEO, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for directing all of the people functions of the organization.  This is both a hands-on, as well as a strategic role for the company, which is anticipating significant growth in the coming months and years.  As the Manager of Human Resources, you do much more than administer policies and procedures.  You are the driver of Americo's culture, employee experience, and Guiding Principles.  You have a passion for building and supporting a world-class team and fostering employee engagement, development, and growth.  You are a key member of the leadership team and are responsible for leading people-focused strategic initiatives that not only enhance company culture, but also drive alignment with the overall company values and vision.  You will use your experience, passion for and knowledge of human resources to further improve people and processes.  You will be a true business partner to the CEO, leadership team, and personnel.  Americo offers a competitive benefits package including Medical, Dental, 401K with match, Profit Sharing, paid vacation, employer paid life insurance and long term disability.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develops and administers various human resources plan and procedures for all company personnel including training, benefits, and safety / WC.

Plans, organizes and controls all activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.

Implements and annually updates the compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts annual salary surveys and develops merit pool (salary budget); analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.

Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures; performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness, information activities program and cash flow.

Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.

Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt, nonexempt and temporary workers; writes and places advertisements; works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checking; extends job offers; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-path program and employee relations counseling; conducts exit interviews.

Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars. Maintains organizational charts and employee directory.

Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.

Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws.

Oversee the Events Committee and helps coordinate/plan employee functions such as monthly socials, Company picnic, holiday lunch etc.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position manages all employees of the Human Resources and payroll department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

Required Education and Experience

Proven experience as a HR Manager, manufacturing preferred.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent; or 5 to 10 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience in strategic planning and implementation

Deep knowledge of HR functions (talent management, recruitment etc.)

Ability to use metrics and analytics

Knowledge of local and international labor law

Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems (e.g. SAP)

Strong communication skills, verbal and written

Well-organized with excellent leadership qualities

Certification (e.g. SHRM-CP /PHR) preferred
