Job Description


Role Summary:

The Director of Data Acquisition is responsible for all aspects of third party data management for CoStar’s marketplace businesses.  This role is responsible for sourcing and managing third party data feeds from Property Management Companies, Property Management Software Vendors and residential MLS’s and Brokers.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the content strategy and infrastructure for all third party data
  • Design and execute both strategic and tactical objectives to acquire and integrate new multifamily and residential rental data feeds
  • Collaborate with the Sr. Director of Partner Relations to manage key vendor relationships including the evaluation and prioritization of current and potential partnerships
  • Develop and continuously refine a functional and technical roadmap for third party data that aligns to business objectives
  • Implement and manage capabilities to improve, monitor, and audit data quality of third party content
  • Build and lead a team of data acquisition specialists focused on content acquisition, customer service and technical support. Foster open communication, transparency and the highest level of integrity, trust and collaboration
  • Establish and maintain data management and data governance best practices and standards
  • Challenge the status-quo and drive creativity, innovation and operational excellence
  • Manage data acquisition budgets including forecasting, planning, tracking and reporting

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership ability and business development experience
  • Strong technical competency and understanding of analytics, integration and data governance
  • Strong business acumen  and ability to articulate and execute corporate strategy
  • Demonstrated success of building strong, cohesive teams by leading and motivating towards action/execution through influence and collaboration
  • Results orientated and the ability to run a metrics driven operation
  • Financial awareness and experience of working within budgets
  • Excellent problem solving, research and analytical skill; attention to detail, objectivity and the ability to think strategically
  • Highest level of communication, information and transparency
  • Experience of change management and ability to adapt quickly in a technology led environment
  • Bachelor degree is required, Masters degree is preferred
