Job Description
The QA Manager leads a team of quality engineers responsible for delivering new and existing solutions with high quality and efficiency. Ensures that standard QA practices and Agile practices are followed. Provides leadership, coaching, career development, and performance management to Quality Engineers reporting to this role. This role is a working leader role that will require contribution as a test and test automation practitioner and as a people leader.

Accountabilities:
 
  • Deeply invested in quality as an integral part of product excellence, demonstrated by an extreme level of commitment to collaborate with partners across the enterprise as well as leading the production of high quality / low defect solutions delivered with efficiency.
  • Provide strategic direction, thought leadership and guidance of quality practices to ensure test/test automation strategies across segments are accurate and are executed in a manner that deliver high quality solutions with the greatest level of efficiency.
  • Proficient in building and leading test automation teams
  • Passionate advocate for Agile Scrum. Readily able to clearly articulate the value proposition of the approach and advantages over alternatives. Awareness of other models, such as Kanban, and when they may be more appropriate for a given situation. Prepared to identify, articulate, and prevent waterfall an any project with the potential for unknowns or change.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a team of engineers recognized for high quality engineering, effective inter- and intra-team collaboration, and for their reflection of Deluxe values.
  • Champion and demonstrate the One Deluxe culture and Deluxe values with the elements necessary to establish and maintain a successful quality engineering organization.
  • Consistently provides and manages to appropriate metrics reflecting the efficiency, quality, process health, and consistency of engineering teams. Leverages other appropriate metrics within assigned organization to ensure high level metrics are within tolerance and variances well understood.
  • Ensure performance of QE team is strong and helps contribute to Deluxe’s goals and objectives using tools such as goal setting, team meetings, and regular 1-on-1 coaching sessions
  • Provide thought leadership in QE and QA/Automation practices to both the QE team and the entire enterprise by contributing to existing learning channels and helping to develop new QE learning channels.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelors (or equivalent experience) in computer science
  • 7 years of experience
  • Agile software development, Agile testing skills, continuous improvement, people leadership, conflict management, communication, change management
  • Experience leading or managing a quality engineering team
  • Experience leading or managing a test automation team
  • Experience working within a test automation framework
  • Experience working within an agile scrum framework
