  • The Position

    The purpose of the Closing Manager is to serve as the leader and responsible party for the Closing Department. Each department manager is responsible for and should be capable of handling the responsibilities and duties of the teams and job titles of the individuals that report to them, in addition to their own management responsibilities. Department managers are to ensure that he/she, along with their staff, are upholding Equity Prime Mortgage's commitment to its customers. The Closing Manager reports to the Chief Operating Officer.


    Responsibilities & Duties

    Manage Team

    • Continuously review and monitor the performance of the team as a whole as well as the performances of the individuals who comprise the department
    • Motivate and lead team to exceed company standards and goals
    • Recruit new hires and terminated employees as needed
    • Address issues with employees and other parties as needed
    • Hold formal semi-annual reviews on eligible employees as scheduled by Human Resources

    Monitor & Improve Upon Departmental Performance

    • Develop and/or maintain metrics to track a departments progress
    • Propose and implement processes or solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness
    • Work with other departments and Department Managers to ensure company processes are being followed and are transitioning smoothly between departments

    Communicate as Department Point of Contact

    • Ensure that information is being disbursed to the team as needed
    • Provide guidance and serve as a point of contact for items of the team’s concern
    • Serve as a point of contact (internally and externally) on all escalated items related to the department, departments functions or team


    • Strong attention to detail
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
    • Self-starting, self-reliant, highly motivated and dependable
    • Efficient in time-management and ability to organize and prioritize tasks
    • Technological savvy and comfort in learning new computer systems and programs
    • High school diploma required, college degree preferred
    • Prior mortgage industry experience, preferably in Post Closing or Closing
    • Strong understanding of the mortgage process from origination through post closing
    • Completion of the Anti-Money Laundering, Fair Lending, and Equity trainings are required


    • 2 Years of Experience in Closing Mortgage Loans
