    Atlanta Operations has an opening for a Field Engineering Assistant II. This is the second of three levels within the Engineering Assistant job family.

    Responsibilities

    The incumbent’s main responsibility is to assist Field Engineers (FEs) and Jurisdictional Consultants (JCs) in maximizing their time with our clients while developing trusting relationships with FEs, Group Managers of Field Engineering (GMFEs), JCs, Chief Inspectors (CI), Manager, Office Engineering and Training (MOET), Operations Chief Engineer (OCE), Operations Engineering Manager (OEM), and Engineering Processing Manager (EPM).

    The incumbent will organize and schedule field engineering visits, create agendas and run reports to ensure completion of all risk evaluations. Compile statistics, performance measurements and monthly reports. Log plans that are received, distribute letters, and as directed by the FEs, will follow up with clients regarding risk improvement efforts. Supports recruiting efforts. The incumbent is a liaison between the office and field staff.

    Incumbents interact with clients and brokers on a daily basis. In many cases, they are the first contact that local site managers have with FM Global/AFM. Incumbents require strong customer service skills.

    Incumbents are used in the field operations to support engineering teams, work assignment, plan review, jurisdictional and office engineering functions.

    Qualifications

    College degree preferred.

    2+ years experience supporting a work group and/or manager. Project coordination experience preferred.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Fluent in spoken and written English, in addition to local language in non-English speaking countries. Strong organization, time management and prioritization skills. Superior technical skills, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel. Customer oriented and able to work well in teams, as well as the ability to adapt and understand cultural differences.
