Position Summary

The incumbent will manage and control incoming parts and repairs in day-to-day operations, to ensure that necessary inventory levels are maintained

Position Functions

  • Supervise Inventory stock room clerks
  • Support Maintenance Department with proper inventory; perform inventory of parts as required
  • Manage MRO EAM system counts and rotation of the stock items
  • Select suppliers and improve the quality of service provided by vendors
  • Organize/update stock room and utilize proper square footage
  • Prepare parts for projects and PM's
  • Continually evaluate and improve stock availability
  • Maintain proper level of spare stock parts and supplies
  • Provide managers with cost reductions as required
  • Generate inventory report and other activities reports in stock room as required
  • Enter data in to the EAM Data base system
  • Coordinate parts for projects and PM's with Maintenance Assistant Supervisors
  • Coordinate and continue to improve quality of services and deliveries provided by suppliers and OEM
  • Provide training for associates
  • Responsible for finding innovative ways to control cost and inventory
  • Provide accurate documentation for business management group
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Position Skills & Qualifications Desired

Physical Requirements: The employee is required to stand for extended periods of time (duration of the shift, 8 hours or more); walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; bend continuously; or crawl. The incumbent must be able to climb stairs and ladders or step up onto a platform several times throughout the shift; and is occasionally required to sit. The employee must be able to push/pull/lift and/or move 50 pounds.

Work Environment: the employee is occasionally exposed to wet/cold conditions of 34 – 36 degrees and also at times hot conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud, which may require hearing protection.

  • Computer skills: MS Office (Excel and Access)
  • Must possess negotiation skills
  • General Mechanical knowledge and basic math skills required
  • Good organizational and communication skill

Position Experience Qualifications

  • Previous experience with EAM/SQL or AS400 a plus
  • Supervisory experience
  • Three to five years related experience in inventory management or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Position Education & Training Preferred

  • Minimum of a High School diploma/GED, some Technical School coursework, or Mechanical Certification (must have at least one of these three items to be considered)
