District 2 Public Health serves 13 counties in northeast Georgia, including Banks, Dawson, Forsyth, Franklin, Habersham, Hall, Hart, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union, and White counties. Children with Special Needs (CWSN) focus is to provide a comprehensive, integrated, and coordinated system of services for children and youth with special needs, birth to age 21 and their families.

Job Responsibilities

Under supervision, learns to provide technical assistance and training within a health care specialty. Plans, directs, and implements a specialty program. Evaluates programs for compliance with state and/or federal guidelines.

  •  Train, orient and support Service Coordinators
  • Quality review and approval of IFSPs
  • Review of Service Coordinators vouchers and case documentation
  • Complete Quarterly reports for state office
  • Child Find
  • Enter authorizations for payments and release for Multi-disciplinary team
  • Review determination of eligibility evaluations
  • Assist in monitoring of timelines in database
  • Take new referrals as necessary
  • Assign new referrals from Children 1st as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of experience performing work related to area of assignment OR Six years of experience performing work related to area of assignment. Note: Some positions may require licensure.
