Class Summary

The Fleet Management Division has been recognized by the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) as a "Blue Seal of Excellence" facility since 2006 and by General Motors Company as an authorized warranty center. Fleet Management is committed to providing the most efficient and cost-effective support, maintenance and operation of Gwinnett County's fleet as well as, ten other local cities and agencies.  With an annual operating budget in excess of $25 million and the leading member of the North Georgia Fuel Co-op, Fleet Management provides the fuel that keeps Gwinnett County moving.
 
The Section Manager will oversee asset management, vehicle intake, County surplus, fuel services and Fleet's procurement functions.  This position is considered the highest level in a business section. This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Gwinnett County Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace.

The Grade for this position is 105.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:·        
  • Bachelor's Degree in a closely related field;
  • Five years of progressively responsible experience related to the area of assignment (including two years of experience as a manager/supervisor);
  • Valid driver's license from state of residency
       
OR
  • Associate's Degree in a closely related field;
  • Seven years of progressively responsible experience related to the area of assignment (including two years of experience as a manager/supervisor);
  • or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above

      * Employees can choose a contribution rate of 2.5%,5.0%, or 7.5%
      * Gwinnett County will contribute 7.0% of your pensionable earnings per pay period.
      • An employee is fully vested in 5 years. An employee can retire if he/she has reached the age of 55 and the sum of his/her age and years of service equals 65.
