Leica Geosystems in the United States / Canada is seeking a seasoned, multidisciplinary designer to join our in-house creative services team. We’re a highly collaborative bunch and part of a global network with a unique way of doing things. We’re creatively driven and possess strong strategic skills. In this role, every day is adventure, you will engage with a wide range of design work: from large ad campaigns to smaller one-off initiatives, from product branding, tradeshow booths, to a variety of online experiences. This role reports to and works in close collaboration with the team’s Creative Director.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Design and produce high-quality creative deliverables for print and online communications such as print ads, catalogs, direct mail, POS displays, tradeshow booths, eBooks, infographics, HTML e-mail templates, micro-sites, web banner ads, landing pages, and e-newsletters.
  • Solve communication problems with design, clearly organizing messages to align with campaign objectives.
  • Drive the creative process by presenting thorough and well-developed recommendations to meet the given objectives.
  • Complete design projects within the timelines agreed. Work from production schedules and status to manage time and prioritize daily workload. Ensure work is completed on time.
  • Ensure that all design work adheres to branding guidelines and company’s quality standards.
  • Proactively identify and implement solutions to improve day-to-day work processes in the design area.
  • Provide access and insight into the design process, keeping stakeholders involved and fostering a sense of collaboration and ownership of the end product.
  • Manage and maintain a library of graphic assets.

Desired Skills
  • A minimum of three (3) years of professional design experience with a digital ad agency, design studio, corporation, or in the pursuit of an advanced design-related degree. Corporate experience a plus.
  • Strong print and web design capabilities and knowledge; must know how to work in both media for integrated campaigns.
  • Excellent command of formats, typography, graphics and layout.
  • Expert user of Adobe Creative Suite. Advance knowledge of Flash and basic HTML preferred.
  • Ability to apply and balance creative and analytical thinking to create effective solutions to communication problems.
  • Exemplary conceptual and visual design competencies with the demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas in a manner that is easily understandable.
  • Ability to execute design proficiently and assure that all creative work is aligned with business and communication objectives.
  • Excellent project management skills with attention towards details and demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-past, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to foster projects from inception to execution
  • Able to work independently, yet take direction
  • Ability to effectively interface and collaborate with groups
  • Advanced copywriting and editing skills are a huge plus.
  • Experience with social media tools such as YouTube, Twitter and Facebook a plus.
  • Experience with Wordpress and Sitecore web platforms also a plus.
  • Design portfolio required during prior to interview.
