IBMer Engagement and Executive Communications Leader, IBM Middle East

Your Role and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Middle East and Africa Communications Manager and working as an integral member of IBM’s Middle East and Pakistan and Global Communications organization, this role plans and executes internal and executive communications projects in MEP, to help aid business growth, and foster positive employee engagement. 
The requirement is for a highly pro-active and innovative individual to help cultivate an engaged workforce to execute IBM’s strategy, retain talent and create advocates.  In collaboration with IBM leaders, IBMers and HR partners, the role builds campaigns and content that equips colleagues with the knowledge, skills, capabilities and assets needed to work effectively, share IBM’s story and deliver results. 
Expertise for this role includes strong writing skills (including speech writing for the MEP General Manager), an understanding of video production, photography, story editing, publishing and community management and the ability to work effectively and independently.
Project management skills are also required and the ability to work with multiple groups inside and outside of IBM to plan events for employees, including town halls.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum 8 years communications experience from in-house or PR agency roles.
  • Strong spoken and written English and Arabic skills.
  • Excellent event management skills.
  • Broad understanding of Middle East & Pakistan business, political, social and cultural issues, and ability to translate IBM global themes/messages into locally relevant material.
  • Above-average familiarity with information technology, its use in business transformation and the IT sector.
  • Strong, self-directed project management
  • Familiarity with working in a global enterprise will be a significant advantage.

  • Hands-on, owns projects from conception through to execution, and great attention to detail.

  • Ability to succeed within the necessarily complex work processes of a large, global corporation.

  • Tertiary qualification in Business Communications, Public Relations or Journalism or a closely-related profession is required.
