The HVAC Superintendent will serve as the Atlanta Airlines Terminal (AAT) Project team lead for the Second Shift HVAC technical team. Span of control will involve the management of a team of HVAC technicians through work order assignments, special project assignments and client requirements consistent with industry HVAC design, operations and maintenance requirements. Position reports to the HVAC Reliability Manager. 

 Essential Job Functions  
  • Possesses considerable knowledge and thorough understanding of BMS-controlled HVAC design, operations and maintenance requirements in large-scale commercial, institutional or manufacturing setting 
  • Plans and oversees the execution of inspections, servicing, preventative maintenance, repair and operations of all equipment and systems associated with the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport's (HJAIA) HVAC systems 
  • Assigns work to a team of HVAC technicians to be completed to industry standards and client requirements 
  • Oversees and conducts performance tests on HVAC equipment, maintains and evaluates resulting test data 
  • Uses, cares for and is responsible for tools and equipment used to complete the testing, servicing, preventative maintenance, repair and operations to HVAC equipment and systems at the HJAIA 
  • Manages outside contractors on behalf of the Atlanta Airlines Terminal Corporation (AATC – the project client) to complete special projects in support of the testing, servicing, preventative maintenance, repair and operations of HVAC equipment and systems at HJAIA 
  • Ensures outside contractor work is compliant with job, safety and code requirements 
  • Attends various professional development, management, safety and other training opportunities consistent with position requirements and MyJourney professional development plan 
  • Promotes and adheres to safe work practices and implements safety policies consistent with Jacobs HSE programs and plans, including standard hazard recognition and mitigation practices for the testing, preventative maintenance and repair of HVAC systems 
  • Manages self and others consistent with Jacobs Business Conduct and Ethics Principles


  • Three to five years' work experience in the testing, servicing, preventative maintenance, repair and operations of HVAC equipment and systems 
  • One to two years managing the assignment and the completion of work by HVAC technical teams that demonstrates the ability to successfully lead and influence the team in their management and completion of work orders to meet key performance indicator requirements 
  • Universal EPA 608 certification 
  • High School degree or GED 
  • Valid Georgia Driver's License with no major infractions 
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Five to seven years' work experience in the testing, servicing, preventative maintenance, repair and operations of HVAC equipment and systems 
  • Two to three years managing the assignment and the completion of work by HVAC technical teams 
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree 
  • Valid Georgia's Driver's License with no major infractions
