ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished. There are many necessary activities to satisfy any of the following performance guidelines.

 Greet and provide assistance to customers. Model the Lund Food Holdings customer service standards at all times and ensure that the departmental staff are doing the same (Customer Focus, Approachability)

 Drive sales in specialty cheese category by setting exciting, dominant displays, product assortment, sampling, and providing help and education to our customers. Ensure monthly sale items are well stocked, appropriately signed and demoed (Intellectual Horsepower, Perseverance)

 Work in partnership with deli and produce managers, general managers and FoodE’s to communicate new items, create possible demos and cross merchandising (Peer Relationships, Learning on the Fly)

 Maintain appropriate stock levels, FIFO inventory management, conduct accurate monthly inventories.

Minimize shrink by accurate ordering and sampling close dated products. Continually assess assortment to maximize sales and minimize slow movers (Organizing, Decision Quality, Problem Solving)

 Educate and train deli sales personnel in specialty cheese product knowledge (Intellectual Horsepower)

 Establish Lunds & Byerlys as the specialty cheese headquarters, making available a wide assortment of specialty cheese. Educate customers on cooking and entertaining needs (Priority Setting, Technical Learning)

1. Perform all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and

cooperative manner.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Licensing Required: None

Experience

One to two years’ experience in food service required. Previous experience with specialty cheese desired.

Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Service oriented with high energy and a friendly demeanor

A working knowledge of cheese classifications and types, as well as being able to converse about a wide variety of cheeses, particularly knowledgeable in artisan cheeses. Familiarity with 30-50 cheeses.

Strong customer service, interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills

Great merchandising talent

Ability to multi-task

Ability to read, speak, and comprehend English
