  • Position Description

    The Mobile Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring operating success for the Mobile Maintenance product line. They are responsible for budgets, profit and loss, assisting in the evaluation of mobile expansion opportunities, expenditures, parts inventory and equipment, maintenance management, managing customer relationships and key customer metrics, management of key quality and compliance metrics, and management of key asset related metrics. The Mobile Operations Manager has responsibility and accountability for driving safety, training and mentoring of all Mobile Service Managers, implementing and assessing Operational Key Performance Indicators and Standard Work for the Mobile Maintenance product line. The Mobile Operations Manager will achieve success by executing on both short and long term actions to improve operational excellence standards for safety, quality, customer service, revenue generation and costs. This position will collaborate with different teams across the organization to achieve overall business objectives. This position reports directly to the Group Director, Mobile Maintenance.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in business, transportation or equivalent work experience
    • Master's degree in operations management or other business related discipline preferred
    • Five (5) years or more experience in operations, includes developing and managing budgets, creating and executing short-and-long term business strategies and tactics
    • Five (5) years or more experience in mobile maintenance preferred
    • Strong collaboration and presentation skills internally and with external customers
    • Ability to:
      • Manage multiple projects and assignments
      • Work in a highly dynamic, time sensitive, collaborative environment
    • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, looks for ways to improve and promote quality; actively solicits feedback to improve performance
    • Strong customer presentation and communications skills and experience
    • Proven experiencing in the transportation or logistics industry
    • Experience working in culturally diverse, operational/functional matrix organizations
    • Proficient with MS Office/Excel/Word/Outlook

    Responsibilities

    • Manage resources including coordination of people, assets, budgets and supplies. Providing proactive guidance as well as communication to senior management on forecasted needs and planning for short-term and long-term requirements of the business
    • Effectively manage total labor hours applied in maintenance and related service activities for all mobile maintenance units and service trucks
    • Maintain safe and environmentally compliant work practices
    • Develop, coach and manage the performance of direct reports
    • Manage maintenance costs and budgets, and hold all Mobile Service Managers responsible for meeting maintenance cost budgets and overall profit responsibilities
    • Maximize revenue and margin of the Mobile Maintenance product line
    • Manage operations-related initiatives to ensure the highest levels of service and retention of customers
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and actively engage with the Sales organization on customer-related initiatives
    • Oversee operations-related asset management activities and metrics
    • Work with the Asset Management organization to effectively manage life cycle of Service Vehicle assets and optimize overall earnings
    • Perform other duties as assigned
