Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:The RIM/ NEW START/ CRISIS RESPITE Client Support performs direct careservices to promote, encourage, and ensure efficient operation of the RIM/ NEWSTART/ CRISIS RESPITE program, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of programparticipants. Seeking to contribute to the success of the RIM/ NEW START/CRISIS RESPITE program, as well as the agency as a whole, the Client Support  successfully carries out daily tasks including assisting with dailyliving activities, monitoring of program participants' progress, andfacilitation of life skills groups, through acquired knowledge, skills, andabilities.

*Residents of these programs are in recovery from Addictive Diseaseand/or Dual Diagnoses

 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Direct Care: (75%)
  • Assist with daily living activities,monitoring, and providing support to individuals residing in a 24/7 semi-independentresidential substance abuse treatment facility to ensure the safety andwellbeing during recovery.
  • Facilitates life skills groups, includingeducation on personal hygiene, nutrition, money management, and interpersonalskills.
  • Provides structured activities thatpromote socialization, recovery, wellness, self-advocacy, development ofnatural supports, and maintenance of community living skills.
  • Monitors completion of urinalysis drugscreens, breathalyzers, and self-administration of medication in accordancewith agency policies and procedures, to encourage accountability.
  • Provides transportation for individuals toappointments and activities in the community.
  • Performslight housekeeping duties, such as cleaning the program office and inspectionof facilities in accordance with environment of care regulations.
  • Ensuresand provides high quality, compassionate, and ethical delivery of services toimprove program and organizational performance.
  • Otherresponsibilities and tasks as assigned.
  • Maintainsconfidentiality for all indirect/direct service in accordance with agencypolicies and HIPPA policies.
  • Intervenes,stabilizes and manages acute crisis situations as needed.
  • Provides additional coverage during increasedcensus/acuity and emergencies.
 Administrative: (25%)
  • Prepares and maintains records ofindividuals' progress and services delivered, reporting changes in condition tomanager or supervisor.
  • Enactsservice related compliance and timely documentation.
  • Maintainsconfidentiality for all indirect/direct service in accordance with agencypolicies and HIPPA policies.
  • Preparesand submits required reports and documentation per agency policy.
KNOWLEDGE
  • Knowledgeof necessary appropriate interpersonal boundaries for working with vulnerablepopulations.
  • Familiaritywith addictive diseases and/or mental health disorders and their impact on anindividual's functioning.
SKILLS
  • Excellentverbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptionaltime management skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarwith computer hardware and software including Microsoft Office products (Word,Excel, Outlook), e-mail, fax, and scanning.
  • Familiarwith EMR documentation

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Education – High School Diploma/GED required.
  2. Minimum 1 year of direct careservice for individuals in human services setting.
  3. Experience with electronicdocumentation.
  4. Other – Criminal backgroundcheck clearance, official academic transcripts, valid driver's license/ID, drugscreen, TB test, eligible 7yr MVR.


Associate's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR One year of experience providing social or direct care services to groups of special needs individuals in a human services setting OR One year of experience at the lower level Client Support Worker 1 (SSS010) or position equivalent. Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  1. Experience – At least two (2)years of experience with addictive diseases and/or mental health preferred.
  2. At least two (2) years of directcare service for individuals in human services setting.
  3. Experience with electronicdocumentation in an EMR
