FEDERAL WORK STUDY PROGRAM – Student Recruitment


This job is a Federal Work Study, non-benefited position in the Recruitment Division. Federal Work-Study (FWS) is a federally funded program by the Department of Education. This program provides part-time jobs for undergraduate students with significant financial need and is administered by the FWS Coordinator, and the Office of Financial Aid, in accordance with the law, federal regulations, and with instructions from the United States Department of Education.

Salary: $10.00 per hour.

Hours: Up to 20 hours per week - Flexible – Monday – Thursday, 8 am until 6 pm and Friday, 8 am until 4 pm.

Minimum Qualifications:
Work Study eligible Gwinnett Technical College student for current semester.

Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the minimum qualifications, must be able to type quickly and accurately, use Microsoft Office, able to communicate professionally via phone and in person. Ability to handle multiple tasks; use proper judgment in directing questions to appropriate staff for assistance.

Job Description Summary:
Under close supervision, provides clerical support and office assistance to Recruitment and related personnel. At the direction of assigned supervisor, provides information and assistance to internal and external customers.
Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards:
1.Assists in organizing and executing routine activities and special projects; provide information to internal and external customers; other duties as assigned.
1.1Make copies of materials as needed and enter data into computer systems
1.2Assist department personnel as needed.
1.3Provide information regarding Gwinnett Technical College to internal and external customers.

2.Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior. (Performed by all incumbents)
2.1Demonstrates eagerness to learn and assume responsibility; seeks out and accepts increased responsibility; displays a "can do" approach to work.
