Job Description

Georgia Regional Hospital at Savannah is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Housekeeping Team Leader. This position will work 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.

Georgia Regional Hospital – Savannah (GRHS) operates 180 licensed, accredited inpatient beds for two major program areas: 1) adult mental health, 2) adult forensic services.

GRHS offers inpatient adult mental health services, inpatient habilitation services and forensic program services to a catchment area of approximately 45 Georgia counties.

Job Responsibilities & Performance:

Cleans assigned areas. Collects, launders, transports and distributes linen when needed. Make sure housekeepers maintain and stock equipment and supplies as needed. Observes required safety precautions in disposing contaminated refuse properly. Operates floor machines, hand tools and power cleaning equipment. Participates in developing and presenting safety and cleaning precautions with staff. Identifies staff developmental needs and makes sure needs are met through training. Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field and uses this knowledge to improve the quality of services provided by the department. Identifies staff development and assures needs are met through scheduling of in-service programs. Makes rounds regularly to assure cleanliness of assigned area and to assure work is performed according to established guidelines. Schedules working with staff periodically. Assists the housekeeping manager by supplying data from daily rounds. Interacts as a cooperative team member and trains by assisting in tasks occasionally. Be receptive to feedback from staff and other personnel. Plans and organizes regular and deep-cleaning tasks when needed. Creates and maintains a high level of performance by demonstrating a positive attitude and by being a good team leader.

One year of experience in related area of assignment OR One year of experience at the lower level Housekeeper 1 (FES040) or position equivalent.

Qualifications

High School Diploma. Must have some basic knowledge of housekeeping, cleaning, and chemicals. Ability to operate some equipment used in cleaning. Must be physically able to lift 25-50 lbs and squat, stoop or bend as required for cleaning. At least One year experience working in an Environmental Services department and knowledge of operation procedures. Must be able to work with others and able to multi-task. Experience in a lead role required. Valid Driver's License.
