Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualifiedapplicants for their Part-time Librarian position,in the Student and Academic Affairs Division.This position is located ATC's (Main Campus), which is just south of Downtown Atlanta.


The Librarian is responsible for maintaining a comprehensive media center to support staff, faculty, and students at technical colleges.  The Job duties are listed below:

-Provide email, telephone and in-personreference services to library clientele using 

  print, electronic and web-basedinformation

 

-Creates and maintains appropriate topic/subjectlibrary user guides, learning objects,

  pathfinders, or other curricularresources and enhances the library's subject-based

  instruction activities.

 

-Prepares and presents library tours,orientation programs, and tailored bibliographic and

  information literacyinstruction.

 

-Provides circulation services and researchassistance tailored to the specific needs of

 students, faculty and staff, inclass, individually, and in group settings

 

-Possess a strong commitmentto library services, familiarity with the use of computers

 in public services,excellent communication skills, and stellar interpersonal skills.

 

-Assist with data cleanup andmigration with new library management system

 

-Organizes and supervises allaspects of evening and Saturday library activities and

  services

 

-This position requires an MLS degree from anALA-accredited program (or equivalent)

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree in Library and InformationScience from an American Library Association accredited institution.  One or more years, within the past fiveyears, of full-time, paid library work experience.  Familiarity with a variety of electronic andprint resources is essential.  Mustdemonstrate effective communication skills.  Experience with Galileo and an electronicslibrary circulating
database are essential.

WORK SCHEDULE: Tuesday-Thursday-3:00pm-7:00pm

Saturdays-8:00am-2:00pm
