Job Description

Savannah TechnicalCollege is seeking a Part Time/Adjunct Faculty member for the Adult Educationprogram.  This position will serve theFort Stewart Army Education Center in Liberty County, specifically working withmilitary personnel in the C2RE program.  Thisprogram is grant-funded.  The instructormust display a high level of effort and commitment to performing work assignments,operate effectively within the organizational structure, and demonstratetrustworthiness and responsible behavior.

Part Time/Adjunct Adult EducationInstructors are responsible for the following duties: (this list is notintended to be exhaustive) 

·Instructing students, developing lesson plans,goals and objectives;

·Evaluating students' progress in attaininggoals and objectives;

·Ensuring student learning outcomes areattained and appropriately recorded;

·Requesting and maintaining supplies andequipment;

·Preparing and maintaining requireddocumentation and administrative reports;

·Maintaining knowledgeof current trends and developments in the field by attending staff developmenttraining, workshops, seminars and conferences;

·Ensuring safety and security requirements aremet in the classroom;

·Advising students;

·Meeting with students, staff, and othereducators to discuss instructional programs and other issues impacting studentprogress;

Duties include aflexible schedule of lecture, advisement, and registration.  Successful candidate must be willing to worksplit teaching shifts that might require split teaching days. 

Minimum Qualifications

·Bachelor's Degree from an accredited collegeor university in Education or a related field.

·Two to three years' teaching experience in asecondary or post-secondary environment. 

·Documented human-relations, interpersonalskills, and strong verbal and written communication skills.

·Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office,particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.



·Master's Degree from anaccredited college or university in Education or a related field.

·Three to five years' teachingexperience, instructing mathematics at the secondary or post-secondary level.

·Knowledge of militarystructure.

·Ability to meet thetesting goals for TABE and AFCT.

·Exhibit flexibility tomeet the needs or the Adult Education Program and the military.

·Intermediate toadvanced skills in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Physical Demands
Work is typically performed in a classroomenvironment with intermittent sitting, standing, or walking in varioussettings. The employee occasionally lifts or moves objects of a light tomedium weight.  Full range of hand andfinger motion may be utilized for data entry purposes.

Salary is commensurate with education and workexperience.
