West Central Georgia Regional Hospital - Columbus, Ga. is seeking qualified applicants for RN Charge Nurse. 

 

Shift:   2nd (3:00pm - 11:30pm)

 

Under broad supervision, assesses client health problems and needs. Develops and implements nursing care plans and maintains medical records. Administers nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled clients. May advise clients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management. Provides training for other staff in job. Provides health care, first aid, immunizations and assistance in convalescence and rehabilitation. Provides education to client and family. Prepares rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and ensures that stock of supplies is maintained. Prepares clients for, and assists with, examinations and treatments. Observes nurses and visits clients to ensure that proper nursing care is provided. Monitors, records and reports symptoms and changes in clients' conditions. Monitors all aspects of client care, including diet and physical activity. Modifies client treatment plans as indicated by clients' responses and conditions. Maintains accurate, detailed reports and client records. Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate client care plans. Administers prescribed medications or starts intravenous fluids, and notes times and amounts on clients' charts. May supervise support staff or employees. Serves as job expert or organization resource in assigned areas. Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision

Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university OR Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse AND One year of professional nursing experience.

Qualifications

BSN a plus.

 

Licensed by the State of Georgia to practice as a Registered Nurse AND 3 years of experience supervising direct care staff.

 

Prior experience working in a behavioral health / psychiatric environment.
