JOB SUMMARY: The WTRS/MMAC Counselor provides programparticipants with outpatient clinical addictive disease services, includinggroup training, group counseling, individual counseling, couples/familytraining/counseling sessions, and family education groups and activities,effectively utilizing evidence-based practices to meet the needs of eachindividual's individualized recovery plan.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   
  • Providesindividual, group, and family training and counseling, including but notlimited to psycho-education, didactic, process, and skills groups, utilizingevidence-based interventions and practices. Completes daily documentation ofgroup sessions in EMR system, using BIRP format, in accordance with agencydocumentation policy.  
  • Developsand reviews individualized service plans with persons served to monitorindividuals' progress toward individualized treatment goals.  – 
  • Completesassessments with persons served including but not limited to Behavior Healthassessments, reassessments, bio-psycho-social assessments, drug and alcoholevaluations, and vocational skills assessments. – 
  • Completesand submits deliverables including but not limited to court summaries, lettersof progress, and billing reports in a timely manner, as directed. - 
  • Attendsand participates in case staffing and treatment team meetings as directed bydirect supervisor. - 
  • Workswith interdisciplinary team in reviewing cases and developing individualservice plans, including referrals to case management, advocacy groups, skillstraining groups, social rehabilitation and external treatment providers.-  
  • Providesclinical consultation to referral sources, community stakeholders, and membersof individuals' support system to help support individuals in their recoveryprocess. 
  • Workscooperatively with the legal system to ensure coordination of services includingcourt appearances when appropriate. 
  • Intervenesand manages acute crisis situations as needed. 
  • Completesin person and online trainings to encourage professional development and meetagency, accreditation, and regulatory standards, as scheduled. 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Knowledge ofnecessary appropriate therapeutic boundaries for working with vulnerable populations.
  • Knowledge ofaddictive diseases and/or mental health disorders and their impact on anindividual's functioning.
  • Knowledge of multipletherapeutic modalities (CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, etc.) and evidencebased interventions.
  • Excellent verbal andwritten communication skills.
  • Exceptional timemanagement skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiar withcomputer hardware and software including Microsoft Office products (Word,Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), e-mail, fax, and scanning.
  • Ability to manage andprioritize multiple assignments.
  • Ability to remainprofessional when dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintainaccuracy and attention to detail when completing multiple assignments.
  • Ability to workindependently and carry out a variety of critical and time sensitive projectswithout detailed instructions.
  • Ability to work withdiverse individuals to collect the necessary information.
  • Ability to maintainthe confidentiality of sensitive and confidential information obtained throughthe course of completing assignments.
  • Ability to beflexible in adapting to changes in priorities, assignments, and otherinterruptions, which may impact pre-established timelines and courses of actionfor completing projects and assignments.
  • Ability to establishand maintain cooperative working relationships with management, staff, andinternal and external stakeholders.
PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
  • MaintainAgency performance expectations 100% of the time.
  • Provide aminimum of 1352 billable hours per year, complete all required documentationsame day services are delivered/end of shift (except for evening groups whichdocumentation is due by 11:00 AM next business day).
  • Complete andprovide quality, collaborative service documentation 100% of the time.
  • 99% accurateon entering information in EMR.
  • 100% ofrequired trainings will be completed within specified time frames.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
 

While performing the duties of this position, theemployee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently isrequired to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and reach with handsand arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision,distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education–High School Diploma along with CAC or CADC.
  • Licensure/Certification-Job related license, (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, MFT, LMSW, LAPC,MAC, CAC, CADC).
  • B.Experience –Minimum two – years (2) of human services, social work and/orclinical experience with addictive diseases population.
  • C.Other -Criminal background check clearance, officialacademic transcripts, valid driver's license/ID, drug screen, TB test.




Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND eligibility to be licensed OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of experience in social service delivery.

Qualifications

PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education-Master's Degree in behavioral healthcare field.
  • Licensure/Certification-Job related license, (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, MFT, LMSW, LAPC,MAC, CAC, CADC).
