Job Description

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and DevelopmentalDisabilities (DBHDD) is currently seeking candidates for the position ofTreatment Team Facilitator – Adult Mental Health at Georgia Regional Hospital -Atlanta, located in Decatur, GA.

Job Grade: I

Job Description: 

Counsel with emphasis on prevention and/orbehavior modification. Work with individuals and groups to promote optimummental health. May help individuals deal with addictions and substance abuse;family, parenting, and marital problems; suicide; stress management; problemswith self-esteem; and issues associated with aging and mental and emotionalhealth. May serve as team leader and/or supervise lower level staff.


Job Responsibilities& Performance Standards: 

Performs jobresponsibilities with minimal supervision

Serves as job expert ororganization resource in assigned areas

Act as client advocatein order to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems incrisis situations

Collect informationabout clients through interviews, observation, and tests

Counsel clients inindividual and group sessions to help them overcome dependencies, recover fromillness, and adjust to life

Develop and implementtreatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge

Evaluate clients'physical or mental condition based on review of client information

Maintain confidentialityof records relating to client's treatment

May superviseprofessional staff and/or support level staff

Monitor, evaluate, andrecord client progress according to measurable goals described in treatment andcare plan

Prepare and maintain allrequired treatment records and reports

Ability to communicateconfidentiality policies

Ability to assemble testmaterials and makes appropriate arrangements for a test site

Ability to clearlyexplain test procedures to consumers

Ability to providehelpful input into determining appropriate tests for consumers

Ability to administertests promptly and according to specific directions

Ability to develop andimplement treatment/case plans

Ability to stand in assupervisor in his/her absence

Master's degree from an accredited college or university AND Two years of related experience OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in related field AND Four years of related experience OR One year of experience at the lower level Behavioral Hlth Counselor 2 (HCP101) or position equivalent. Note: Some positions may require certification or licensure.


Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or otherhuman services field

Three years of clinical experience serving people with SevereMental Illness

One year experience with treatment planning
Interdisciplinary team experience.
