Position Description

This position requires a well-rounded software engineer that is willing to work in any area of the system that requires maintenance or new development. As part of a development team must be able to contribute to design decisions, issue triage and estimation. Apply software engineering skills for the development and maintenance of software systems for web based lottery systems. The candidate must be proficient in infrastructure analysis and design concepts and implementations.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions

• Develop system requirements, technical designs, and implement logical solutions through the use of structured programming concepts and modern programming methods.
• Work closely with internal and external customers to make sure that the application meets the needs of the business.
• Coordinate the establishment and execution of product development and architectural roadmaps that align with the company’s overall vision.
• Ensure delivery of quality work with clear, well-commented code as scheduled in accordance with technical design and product requirements
• Follow shop standards for development and testing activities. Adhere to SGI’s and industry security standards
• Work with Lead Software Engineer to evaluate feature, schedule and resource trade-offs and make informed, long-term recommendations
• Work with Lead Software Engineer to develop estimates and schedules for projects
• Create and maintain installation software for the different system components
• Demonstrated ability to work as a self-starter in a focused software development team.
• Maintain up to date knowledge on new programming methods and technologies in order to anticipate and accommodate future changes dictated by business and technical growth.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management, or equivalent experience.
• 5 to 10 years programming experience, preferably in a large-scale transaction processing or other complex system, is a plus.
• This position requires a well-rounded software engineer that is willing to work in any area of the system that requires maintenance and/or new development.
• Experience in Customer Interaction and Requirements Analysis
• Experience in Software design and architecture, Client / Server programming, Database programming, Source Control/Configuration, Real-time server programming, High availability environment programming and User interface implementation.
• Development expertise in C#, ASP.NET, C/C++, XML, JSON, REST, Web services, SQL Server, Angular, HTML, OutSystems, AJAX, JavaScript, JQuery, CSS and Responsive Web Design
• Knowledge regarding Agile Development processes and methodologies, is a plus
• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal communication and writing skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment where multiple projects must be delivered simultaneously.
• General Lottery or Gaming business experience is required (vendor side).
• Lottery business knowledge and systems understanding is strongly preferred.
• Customer facing Lottery side operations experience is a plus.
• Actual Lottery Back Office knowledge or systems experience is a big plus
• Formal business process definition and experience gathering related through JAD sessions or other techniques is a plus.
• Accounting and financial experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated commitment to technical development as evidenced by continuing education and professional certifications is a plus.
• Experience working with teams overseas is a plus

Work Conditions:
• The ability to move between projects with little notice and the ability to adapt quickly.
• Dynamic environment with a wide variety of technologies and business lines.
• Overtime and weekend hours may be required to meet project schedules and other deadlines.
• Travel requirements: Up To: 20%.
