Job Description

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta serves more than 300,000 individuals with 23 full facilities and ten additional camping and childcare locations. KNOW HOW

1.  Must meet minimum age requirement of 18 years old. 21 years or older preferred.

2.  One year or more of related experience preferred.

3.  Move, set up, and store equipment weighing up to fifty pounds or more.

4.  Respond to safety and emergency situations and maintain/report accurate incident/accident forms.

5.  If over 18 years of age, must have a valid drivers license or pass drivers test.

6.  Pass the State of Georgia criminal background check.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION

1.  Reports and monitors all mechanical and equipment problems.

2.  Sets up equipment, and returns equipment to storage. Ensures cleanliness and safety of facilities and equipment.

3.  Assists other staff. 

4.  Attends staff meetings and approved training as required.

5.  May be responsible for opening and closing a rented facility.

ERGONOMIC REQUIREMENTS

1.   May involve the movement of equipment over 200 pounds.

2.   May involve the lifting of equipment storage bags, etc. of 50 pounds, or more.

3.   May involve all aspects landscaping including the possible handling of hazardous machinery, if over 18 years of age.

GENERAL FUNCTION:
The Camp Maintenance Assistant is responsible for a wide range of responsibilities related to preparing for summer camp. Camp Maintenance Assistant reports directly to the YMCA Camp Director. 

The Camp Maintenance Assistant is also responsible for responding to various situations in order to ensure safety for participants and spectators.  This position must perform program responsibilities in accordance with the policies, goals, mission, values and objectives by the Metropolitan Atlanta YMCA.

This position requires availability during week days and some weekends as needed.
