Under the direction of the Afterschool Director, the Afterschool Site Counselor is able to assist with providing an excellent program of care and enrichment for school age youth. The counselor also carries out the planned program as directed.
1.)Must be 18 years or older.
2.)Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
3.)Must have prior experience working with school-age children in a group setting. A licensed setting is preferred.
4.) Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
5.) Must receive a cleared GCIC and NCIC before working. A cleared fingerprint must be received within 90 days of employment to continue working. Annual GCIC checks will be conducted before the beginning of each school year.
6.) Program knowledge of and ability to implement environmental education, crafts, games, Youth Fit For Life program, Kids Litz, Math Litz and Flocabulary.
7.)Must be able to assist with the annual campaign also known as the WHY IT MATTERS “friendraising” and fundraising initiatives.
8.) Must pass a Motor Vehicles Record Check to drive YMCA approved vehicle.
9.) Must have own transportation to travel to various locations.
